All User Meeting Coral Seminar Training Wire-bonding All User Meeting The annual All User meeting is scheduled for January 21st and 22nd . You must attend one of the sessions. Location: Lily Hall 1-105 at 7:00pm for both dates. If you do not attend your laboratory and cleanroom access will be removed. Please make sure you attend. Coral The MSEE building will have a power outage on Saturday, Jan 10th from 8am until noon. This impacts the server rooms, and most ECN services will be unavailable during this time. The Birck Coral servers will be affected (down) by this outage, so no Coral logging, reservations or equipment enabling will be available. Please plan accordingly. Wire-bonding As many of you know, Gale Lockwood left Purdue at the end of December and is now working overseas. Tim Miller has assumed responsibility for wirebonding at Birck, so please see him for all your wire-bonding needs.

Good Evening! It is with very mixed emotions that I let you all know that Christy Daugherty, Account Clerk V, will be leaving Birck for another position here at Purdue. She is going to be a Graduate Student Coordinator in Health and Human Services. Christy has been a great support to many of us in the areas of Travel and Credit Card Purchasing and she will be greatly missed. Her last day at Birck will be January 20th. We are working on coverage of her duties during the transition but I wanted to get this announcement out quickly. Please join me in congratulating Christy on her new role. Thank you, Donna

Dear Birck Users - The following message was posted on the ECN "Message of the Day" and it pertains to us. The Birck Coral servers will be affected (down) by this outage, so no Coral logging, reservations, or equipment enabling will be available this Saturday between the hours of 8:00 and 12:00 noon. Please plan accordingly. - Major service outage on Sat., Jan 10th from 8am until noon The MSEE building will have a power outage on Saturday, Jan 10th from 8am until noon. EE & MSEE Building closure Holiday Closings Mileage Rates EE & MSEE Building closure EE and MSEE Building Occupants, We have finalized the dates for the Electrical Shutdown for the entire EE and MSEE Buildings. The electrical shutdown is part of a campus wide metering initiative, electrical meters are being installed on the building utilities for all campus buildings. They have installed these meters in about 100 campus buildings so far. During the times listed below, for safety reasons no one will be allowed to enter the building. If you have any questions or concerns you may call Steve Devault at 46677 or email devault(a)purdue.edu<mailto:devault@purdue.edu>. EE Building will be down on Monday, 12/29/14 starting at 5:30pm for about 4 hours. MSEE Building will be down on Saturday, 1/10/15 starting at 8:00am for about 4 hours. Holiday Closings Purdue University will be closing at noon on December 31st. The University will also be closed January 1st & 2nd in observance of the new year. Many staff members will be on vacation at various times over the holidays, please plan accordingly. Mileage Rates The IRS recently announced new standard mileage rates when using a personal vehicle for business reasons. The rates are based on the fixed and variable costs of operating a vehicle. Mileage Rate Change for Travel on or after January 1, 2015 Effective for travel on or after January 1, 2015, the privately owned vehicle mileage rate will change from 56 cents per mile to 57.5 cents per mile. Concur Concur has learned of a phishing scam designed to trick users into giving up Concur Travel and Expense credentials. The offending email offers $200 in Personal Travel Credit, and directs the user to a domain that is not the correct concursolutions.com domain. Delete this email and do not follow the link. If you suspect you have already clicked the link, change your password immediately. Concur Client Support Purdue Closure Purdue University will be closed Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th in observance of the Christmas Holiday. Purdue will also be closed Thursday, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd in observance of the New Year. Many staff members will be on vacation at various times over the holidays, please plan accordingly. Toxic Gas Monitoring System The TGMS experienced a significant failure in the control computer and a new computer was installed by the Honeywell field service engineer late this week. This morning the local programming of the new computer was completed and now all toxic gas processes are turned back on. Additionally our wireless monitoring system has experienced an intermittent drop in output voltage on one sensor so a different field engineer is remotely reprogramming that system. This wireless system monitors hydrogen and methane so those processes will be unavailable until this reprogramming is completed. Our hope is that this can be completed yet today (Friday) so please watch Coral and the display on the second floor atrium for updates.
