Purdue Travel Card Security Incident - TIME SENSTIVE

Purdue University has been notified that 450 of the Travel credit cards may have been impacted by a supplier compromise. IF you were one of those individual cardholders you should have received an email (below) please take the appropriate action as soon as possible. If you did NOT receive the email then your card was not affected and no further action is needed. To: Purdue Travel Cardholder From: Maura B Kennedy, Payables Administrator, Purdue University Purpose: Email to request notice that cardholder account should be excluded from February 5 closure and re-issue Timing: Between February 5 and February 15 Subject line: Time Sensitive - Your action required: Merchant security Incident impacted your commercial card account ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We were recently notified that your commercial card account was impacted by a merchant security incident. A merchant security incident does not necessarily mean that fraud has occurred. However, the information that was compromised could potentially result in fraud. The information compromised may have included card numbers, the card expiration dates, the three-digit security codes and cardholder names. This was not a Chase or J.P. Morgan security incident. To protect the account from unauthorized use, on Friday, February 5, the account will be closed and a new card issued. Your replacement card is scheduled to be mailed by Friday February 12. Once the account is closed, you will not be able to transact on it until the new card is received and activated. You should expect to receive your new card by Monday, February 15. You should destroy the impacted card and activate the new card as soon as it is received. If you will be traveling or have an urgent business need for your card during this time, you must contact me via email by end of day Tuesday, January 26 at Tcard(a)purdue.edu<mailto:Tcard@purdue.edu>. If your account is excluded from closure, you will be contacted by the J.P. Morgan or Chase fraud prevention team to determine a convenient date for your account to be closed and re-issued. Associate Director, Engineering Directorate Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Livermore, CA 94550 11am-12noon, January 25, 2015 Burton Morgan 11am-12noon ABSTRACT Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is a Department of Energy (DoE) National Laboratory with its core mission focus in areas such as (i) Nuclear Security, (ii) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, and (iii) Energy and Environmental Security. LLNL's science and technology competencies cover a broad range of multi-disciplinary areas such as Materials Science & Engineering, Nuclear Science & Technology, Lasers and Optical Technologies, High Performance Computing, Information Systems & Data Science/Analytics, Computational Science & Engineering, and Biological sciences & Bio-Engineering. In addition to these competencies, LLNL maintains a number of unique experimental facilities to conduct the research & development needed to carry out its missions successfully. This seminar will give a broad overview of LLNL capabilities followed by a description of specific science & technology thrusts within the Engineering Directorate in (i) Materials Engineering & Manufacturing, (ii) Bio-Engineering, (iii) Data & Decision Technologies and, (iv) Computational Engineering. The Engineering Directorate is seeking potential collaborations with Purdue faculty and students working in these areas. Biography: Anantha Krishnan is currently the Associate Director for the Engineering Directorate at LLNL. In this role, he is responsible for leading a diverse organization of 1400 personnel that provides the engineering science and technology to ensure the success of the Laboratory's programs and institutional goals. These efforts include both large- and small- scale systems and components engineering, computational code development and simulation, engineering design and requirements, specialty manufacturing, prototyping and assembly, experiment execution, and the operation of critical engineering facilities. He also oversees and directs engineering research and development activities in computational engineering, micro- and nanotechnologies, pulsed power, precision engineering, advanced diagnostics, and knowledge management systems. Before coming to LLNL, Anantha was a Program Manager at DARPA from 1999 to 2005. He managed several programs in the area of nano-bio-technology for the Defense Sciences Office (DSO) as well as programs in the area of high performance microelectronic circuit design for the Microsystems Technology Office (MTO). In recognition of his efforts at DARPA, he was awarded the Medal for Exceptional Public Service by the Secretary of Defense in 2005. From 1989 to 1999, he held various positions, including Vice-President for Advanced Technology, at Computational Fluid Dynamics Research Corporation (CFDRC) where he managed several programs in the areas of semiconductor processing technology, MEMS/bio-MEMS, supercritical fluid technology, crystal growth and aerospace/rocket propulsion. Anantha obtained his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989 and his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1986. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology in India in 1984.

Bicycles Flexible Substrates in the Airco E-Beam Evaporator Floor waxing Health & Wellness Fair Seminar Bicycles Bicycles are not allowed in the building. This is a campus wide rule. Even with the weather turning cold, you must park your bikes in the bike rack in front of Birck. 7.03 SPECIAL UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS (a) Bicycles may be parked on campus only in bicycle racks and on bicycle pads provided specifically for this purpose. Motorcycles are not allowed in bicycle parking areas. Bicycles must be ridden on designated campus drives and bike paths. Any bicycles found in violation of these regulations may be removed and/or ticketed with a violation notice. Flexible Substrates in the Airco E-Beam Evaporator We continue to receive a high number of requests from multiple research groups to evaporate standard materials onto flexible substrates of various kinds, such as polyimides, polymers, and flexible roll materials. Because of the nature of these materials, they typically outgas during deposition in our systems so we have restricted flexible substrates to be used in the Varian only. (Base pressures in systems with flexible substrates are higher). However we have had such a high number of requests that we're now going to offer the Airco evaporator as an alternate system for evaporating materials onto flexible substrates. Effective Monday, November 30th the Airco evaporator will become the second e-beam system in which flexible substrates are allowed. We believe that by offering two e-beam systems for flexible substrates we will be able to accommodate more users more efficiently. Please let us know if you have any issues or concerns.
