UPDATE: UPW Status

All, The Ultra-Pure Water is now measuring back to the normal 18.2 M-ohm level, with Boron and TOC measurements also measuring within specifications. Therefore, the purity of our UPW is back to normal levels, and you may now use UPW for your processing without any fear of contamination. Thanks, Ron

Post-PM Status of the Birck Nanotechnology Center

Dear All, The power outage for the Bindley construction tie-in was completed successfully yesterday, and today our 6-month building facilities preventative maintenance activities have been completed. The cleanroom and labs are now open for research. However, please note that due to the shortened holiday week and the Thursday power outage some of our processing equipment is not yet available for research. Please check Coral for equipment availability. Also, the Ultra-Pure Water system is producing water between 5.0 M-ohm and 17.8 M-ohm due to elevated ionic content. Normal UPW runs at 18.2 M-ohm. We will notify all users when the UPW system has returned to normal purity. Until then, please be aware of this higher ionic content and use UPW with the proper discretion. Thanks, Ron

Refrigerator Clean out

The refrigerator will be completely cleaned out and scrubbed down at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 5th. Anything you want to keep needs to be removed before this time. ALL containers will be thrown away regardless of how long they have been in the refrigerator! The Energy Showcase will feature interactive demos, exhibits and tours, giving attendees a unique opportunity to mingle with prominent energy researchers and innovators within a hands-on atmosphere.
