West Parking Lot closed June 3rd HV shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd (PVIL Only). This will be a 6-10 hour shut down and three crews and is including shut down of the West and South Nano Tech parking lots (towing enforced on Saturday 5-27-17). See map below for closed lots locations. [cid:image001.png@01D2DBBF.D0475D20] Summer Hallway Scrubbing and Waxing Please note the following dates. These hallways will be closed from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM. June 7th Wednesday - The front door and front office hallway on the first floor east side. This includes BRK 1001, 1027, 1027A, 1027B, 1027C, 1025, 1024, 1023, 1022, 1021, 1019, 10174, 1015, 1014, 1012, 1010, and 1008. June 12th Monday - The west front door and first floor front office hallway west side. This includes BRK 1287, 1287A, 1287B, 1287C, 1289, 1290, 1292, 1293, 1297, and 1299. June 14th Wednesday - The front part of the Atrium. You will be able to come through the front door, but you will need to use the side hallways to get to the stairs. Thank you for your patience as our staff works to keep Birck a clean and beautiful facility. We plan to do this work on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. All west wing 1st & 2nd floor laboratories activities that involve exhausted hoods, vacuum systems, and/or toxic gas systems will be down during this time. However, work that involves taking standard electrical measurements may be carried out in the laboratories provided that fluctuating air temperature and humidity do not affect the readings. No chemical work will be allowed during this period. The west lab wing chemical exhaust shutdown will not affect the cleanroom or east wing laboratories those areas will remain operational during this shutdown. Dear PQC faculty members, Vlad and Sasha's group has invited Dr Jianwei Wang from University of Bristol, UK to give a seminar on Silicon Quantum Photonics. As you know, Bristol is a major player in the Integrated Quantum Photonics field and this seminar, bringing up very creative aspects of the quantum photonic engineering may be of interest to you. The talk is scheduled for 12 pm on Monday May 22nd. Please see the attached flyer for details. In addition, there is a possibility to meet the speaker during the day.
