Steam shutting down Wednesday 10-21-15

Everyone, On Wednesday the building will be on the cool side because we need to shut down the steam for a repair. They will shut down the steam around 5:00AM and will bring it back up around 6:00PM. You will feel it cool down around 7 or 8:00AM and the building will not be at full steam until about 9 or 10:00PM. Please bring an extra sweater or jacket to stay comfortable. Subject: Notification of Scheduled Brief Data Network Outage for All Campus Buildings - ITaP Data Centers Not Affected! – ITaP Change Management RFC #5014 Importance: High WORK TO BE PERFORMED: From 12:00 AM to 1:00 AM on Friday, 10/16/15, the ITaP Data Networks Team will be performing work that will cause a disruption of data network services for all campus clients. AFFECTED CLIENTS: All campus ITaP data network clients should plan to experience disruption of wired network services (via data PIC) and wireless network services (via PAL3.0). Please note that ITaP data centers should not be impacted by this work so services such as the Purdue home web page, email, and other critical services that are run out of the ITaP data centers will remain online and functional. SCOPE OF WORK: During the scheduled outage window, Affected Client(s) should plan to experience 1 or more service disruptions lasting up to 8 minutes each in duration. Most clients should only experience a single 8-minute service disruption but some clients may experience multiple such disruptions. If you have any questions or concerns about this work please don't hesitate to let us know. Thanks much. PM Shut Down Notice 10.19 – 10.23 The Birck Nanotechnology Center will be undergoing a semi-annual preventive maintenance and service shutdown October 19 through October 23, 2015. Air handling systems, exhaust systems, toxic gas delivery, and monitoring systems will be down beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, October 19 through 4 p.m. Friday, October 23. The BNC staff will be performing appropriate preventive maintenance on the process equipment at this time as well. All CLEANROOM research work will be suspended until the maintenance activities are completed and all systems are returned to normal. No one will be allowed to enter the cleanroom during this time period. In addition, the laboratory areas will also be affected by this systems maintenance. As such, all LABORATORY activities that involve exhausted hoods, vacuum systems, and/or toxic gas systems will be down beginning 7 a.m. Monday, October 19 through 4 p.m. Friday, October 23. However, work that involves taking standard electrical measurements may be carried out in the LABS provided that fluctuating air temperature and humidity do not affect the readings. No chemical work will be allowed during this period. It is anticipated that the building and process tool maintenance will be completed by the end of the day on Friday, October 23. Please check Coral for equipment status and availability. For long term research planning please refer the following future dates for our future preventive maintenance shutdowns.
