Good Afternoon, The Bake Sale so far has netted $269.62. We still have items left to sell in the Main Office. I want to thank everyone for supporting the United Way's Bake Sale. Congratulations to Tony Mikos!

Dear Colleagues, I am delighted to inform that Antonios G. Mikos (MS 1985, PhD 1988), Louis Calder Professor of Bioengineering, Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and Director of the Center for Excellence in Tissue Engineering at Rice University, has been elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies. Tony is recognized "for seminal contributions and visionary leadership in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine." Tomorrow, it will be emailed to the US ChE Heads and also sent for publication in CEP and C&E News. We had prior ads for the Nichols Chair and for the PSE position - this ad combines those two with our newly authorized pharma biologics position. Hi again, My first email has most likely not arrived to those that were (and most likely are still) affected. Here is some more information for future reference whenever you happen to see this. Currently ITAP is reporting that the issue may be resolved by 4pm. If in the future you suspect issues with your Exchange (Outlook) account you can try these steps: See if you can connect via the web interface at http://owa.purdue.edu Check ITAP's service status on this page: http://www.itap.purdue.edu/infrastructure/operations/change/calendar.cfm Currently the Outlook/Exchange issue is listed as the second item ("Active Directory Outage"). Check ECN's home page - when there are issues affecting a large portion of Engineering they will put a red banner at the top of the page with information: https://engineering.purdue.edu/ECN I'd suggest bookmarking these three pages now so the next time Outlook isn't behaving you can check the pages. Also, when you have a computer issue the best place to send a request for help is this page: https://engineering.purdue.edu/ECN/AboutUs/ContactUs Remember to select Chemical Engineering for the department. What I know at the moment is that ITAP is aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. As a short term fix those that normally use Outlook and have "exchange" accounts (most but not all Outlook users), you can use the Web interface to see most of your email and calendar.
