Four times a year volunteers from our department will meet at the Meijer in West Lafayette on a weekend morning to clean the mile and a half section of road. All supplies are provided by the Indiana Department of Transportation and GSO will have doughnuts and coffee for all volunteers. We are more than happy to invite all graduate students as well as their significant others, families, roommates, and friends, as long as they are over the age of 15. If you do not have a car but would still like to participate you can still sign up and we will set up a carpool. Results of safety inspections - June 2017

Hello Everyone, In preparation for the upcoming Safety Recertification of our School with REM, the ChE Safety Committee inspected last week all laboratories and offices in FRNY and the rooms occupied by ChE personnel in POTR. I am glad to report that we noticed an overall improvement in the safety of our labs and offices. Please find attached a document that summarizes the he most frequent safety issues identified during the safety inspections. The document also spells out the OSHA and Purdue required documentation, PPE requirements and a reminder of some safety rules and policies applicable to our School. Please pay close attention to the safety gloves policy under the PPE section. Each faculty or person responsible for a specific area will receive another email with the results of the safety inspection for that area; please address the problems identified. The Safety Committee will perform unannounced inspections in the second part of July, to check whether the safety issues identified were addressed. Thank you for your continuous commitment to safety! Emergency Shower & Eyewash Testing
