Used Equipment Available

There is a variety of old equipment, still in useable state, that is available in room 2191 for anyone interested, at no cost. I attach a list with the capital items that are still tracked through property accounting. There is more than this available, typically items that cost less than $2,500 when they were purchased. Please take the time to review the list and the room and let Jeff Valley know by June 30 if you are interested in any items. At the end of this period we will have to make a decision if there are more requests for one item. The new owners will be announced in early July. Please submit a request only if you can move these items to your lab in July, the objective of this project is to free up the school space and eliminate unnecessary equipment. Room 2191 will be open and Jeff will be available to answer questions on Tuesday, June 3, from 1.00 to 3.00 pm and on Friday, June 6 from 9.00 to 11.00 am. Reminder: Self audit forms are due on Monday!

Hello Everyone, This is just a reminder that the Self-audit forms are due on Monday, June 2. The ISP Self-Audit checklist can be found on the ChE School's website, under the "Laboratory Safety Requirements" heading: https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/AboutUs/Safety.html , or on the REM's website: http://www.purdue.edu/rem/home/forms/ispcheck.pdf The first seven sections have universal questions that apply to every area. Sections 8 to 24 have questions related to specialized operations; research laboratories and shops should address all sections. All self-audit checklists must be signed by PI/supervisor, not necessarily by the person completing the self-audit. Please return completed self-audits to Gabriela Nagy in FRNY G051 by 5 pm on Monday, June 2. In addition to the self-audit, please review your door posting, hazard assessment and prepare the new Chemical Hygiene Plan for your work area. They should be accurate and dated within the last six months. MSDS folders should also be updated, to have MSDSs no older than 5 years. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter! Reluctantly, I accepted his request. On behalf of our School's faculty, staff and graduate students, I express deep gratitude to Jim for his outstanding service in this role. Simultaneously, I am pleased to inform that, effective July 1, Prof. Mike Harris has accepted to become our School's DGS.
