Building Restrictions 11-26-2025

Hello all, Next Wednesday November 26th, there will be temporary restrictions for a portion of our building during most of the morning. A crane will be onsite outside the south portion of the Old Wing of Forney in order to install a fan on a ventilation unit. Per Purdue EHS, all floors in that section of the building will need to be clear of occupants during the hours of 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Please plan accordingly to be vacant from this wing during this time period. If you have an office in this portion of the building, please make arrangements to work in an approved portion of the building or from home if approved by your supervisor. If you have lab(s) in this portion please prepare before to have them unoccupied during this time period. Main Office Hours for 11/26

Dear All, As we approach the upcoming break, our School has approved staff to leave early tomorrow, Wednesday, November 26, beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST. In accordance with Purdue’s policies, those who wish to take advantage of this option will need to use 1.5 hours of paid leave or flex time during this week (e.g., remote work, working lunches, or working outside your normal hours). Any requested time should align with what your supervisor approves, particularly if you plan to leave earlier than 3:30 p.m. Supervisors are encouraged to approve these requests if the week’s workload permits. The main office will close at 3:30 p.m. EST tomorrow; however, our staff will remain reachable via email. Thank you, and I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend and a restful break next week. Formerly known as the annual Safety Chair Meeting, the event will feature sessions focused on promoting safety awareness, sharing best practices and strengthening Purdue's culture of safety. Attendees are encouraged to visit vendor and departmental tables in Room 218 to learn more about available safety resources, programs and equipment. The summit will open with remarks from Eric Butt, senior director of Environmental Health and Safety, followed by presentations covering topics such as emergency preparedness, laboratory safety, waste management, and hazard recognition. The event will also include the Presidential Safety Award presentations, recognizing individuals for exceptional contributions to safety at Purdue.
