Dear Weldon Faculty, Staff, and Students, As winter temperatures settle in, we're coming together once again to support members of our community who could use a little extra care. Some of our students are facing challenges staying warm this season, and we're launching a Stay Warm Drive to help. We invite you to donate new or gently used cold-weather items, including: * Hats * Mittens and gloves * Scarves * Socks These items will be stored alongside our on-site pantry food supplies, allowing students to access them when needed. Donations can be dropped off at the white boxes in MJIS or SL220, beginning Monday. Every contribution-no matter the size-helps make a real difference. Together, we can help ensure no one in our community goes without warmth this winter. Thank you for your generosity and continued support. BTW - the Food Pantry is up and running in MJIS. Good morning, everyone! Welcome to a new semester in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, and to the start of an exciting 2026. As you will see in our 2025 Year in Review, this past year was one of extraordinary momentum, marked by historic growth in our student body, record research expenditures, national leadership in patents, and transformative investments from partners such as DARPA and ARPA-H. Our faculty, staff, students, and alumni delivered remarkable impact across discovery, translation, education, and service, earning major awards, fellow recognitions, and leadership roles that reflect the strength of the Weldon community. Equally important, we expanded our reach and relevance, from advances in brain and microsystems engineering to smart medical manufacturing and the launch of new biomedical initiatives in Indianapolis. As we begin 2026, we do so with confidence, ambition, and a shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of biomedical innovation while supporting one another's success. The Purdue Health Empowerment Summit – Purdue Pitch Engine Competition invites students to pitch innovative, tech-enabled health solutions spanning digital tools, data-driven approaches, clinical technologies, and public or population health innovations. Projects may focus on human or animal health. Students will submit a 5-minute video proposal, and the top three teams or individuals will be selected to present live at the 2026 Health Empowerment Summit on February 24, 2026.
