Purdue Mask Policy Change

Dear All, Please be aware that Purdue has updated its mask policy as was mentioned in the email that was sent out recently. Masks are required for everyone when indoors anywhere on campus, regardless of vaccination status. The change follows the CDC guidance for areas with substantial or high community transmission, of which not only our state falls under but also our county, Tippecanoe. Purdue will continue to monitor the pandemic and will revise the policy again when the pandemic improves in our area. Please remember that violations of this mask policy by anyone is considered a violation of the Protect Purdue Pledge and will be subject to disciplinary action by the University. Covid-19 impacted spaces in FRNY

Dear faculty, staff, and students, I have been notified that there is a COVID-19 positive test result for a member of our research community. This email is to inform you that all research spaces accessed by this researcher after their initial exposure to the virus, FRNY 2181, 2182, 2183, 2060C, G060D are closed today for disinfection according to the Purdue prescribed procedures (see the cleaning and disinfecting guidelines at this link: https://www.purdue.edu/ehps/rem/worker/covid19/cleaningguide.pdf) These research spaces will return to normal operations after disinfection is completed, starting tomorrow morning (8/3). Dr. Bethany Foerg Bio: Bethany (she/her) is a CAPS Staff Therapist and one of the liaisons to the College of Engineering and Graduate Student Government. Bethany has a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from IPFW. Prior to joining CAPS in November 2020, Bethany has been a clinician in community mental health, private practice, and hospital settings. She provides therapy from a client-centered approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, experiential, humanistic, and existential models. She enjoys helping people learn to regulate their emotions, gain assertiveness, live healthier and happier lives, and have healthy, strong relationships. In her spare time, Bethany enjoys baking, arts and crafts, and being in nature. Her favorite self-care activity is to look for birds while hiking. Theresa earned both her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. In her clinical work, Theresa uses integrative approaches including Acceptance and Commitment, Mindfulness, and Relational-Cultural Therapy. Theresa is passionate about providing multiculturally sensitive, social justice oriented, and affirming care to her clients and within the Purdue Community. She is an advocate for anti-racism and an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. Clinical interests include race-based trauma and stress, identity development concerns (including race, gender, and sexual orientation), trauma, mood and anxiety related disorders, interpersonal and relational concerns, phase of life, and self-care management. Outside of counseling, Theresa enjoys musicals, singing, making homemade greeting cards, and spending time with loved ones.
