Purdue emergency notification system - testing today

Good morning, This is a reminder that Purdue University will test its emergency notification system, including sirens, at 10 a.m. today, Thursday (Sept. 28). The alert system includes campus-wide emailing, text messaging, Twitter, information posted to the Campus Status page, All Hazards Outdoor Siren activation, Alertus beacons installed in large classrooms, desktop popup alerts on most classroom and lab computers, approximately 185 digital signs, and Boiler TV emergency alert system activation. The alert posted to the Campus Status page will state: "This is the semi-annual TEST of the Purdue emergency warning notification system. This test simulates a level 1 incident. No action is necessary." Winterization 2017

I have attached a google doc for anyone to sign up if you are interested. If you are unaware of the Winterization event, this is an event organized each year to help elderly and disable citizens of our community prepare for the winter weather by raking leaves and clearing yards. It is a really rewarding event that is really appreciated by all those that are helped each year. In order to make sure we have cars that are all Chemical Engineering we will fill out this google doc before we officially register with the Winterization organizers. There are two tabs for the two waves of times so make sure you sign up on the correct one, note the times on each tab. If you are interested in helping those affected by these natural disasters the GSO has teamed up with a group on campus who is collecting food, clothing, and money for those affected.
