St. from 5th to 6th streets Beginning today through the end of this week (September 14-16), two northbound, west side lanes on University Street (from Fifth Street to Sixth Streets) will be closed during the work day. Depending upon the work progress each day, the lanes may be opened for traffic each evening. Contractors from the Miller Pipeline Company will be retiring an old gas line and installing a new one for the Heine Pharmacy Building. Due to increased traffic congestion, please avoid this area if possible. For questions or concerns, please contact Dan Pusey at 765-714-1593.

Beginning Wednesday morning September 14, traffic will be restricted to one lane on I-65 in the northbound lanes approximately two miles south of State Road 28 (S.R. 28) for milling and paving operations. Work will continue between mile markers 154 to 164 in both the northbound and southbound lanes. Crews will be milling and paving small sections of the interstate in this area. The estimated completion date is Friday, September 23, 2011. INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution, and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone. ChE Re-Indemnification 2011

ChE Faculty, Staff and Students, On August 18, the ChE Safety Committee met with representatives from REM to review our safety program. We reviewed: * safety committee activities * safety communication * self audits and safety committee inspections - findings and resolution of deficiencies * safety training * common and recurrent ChE safety issues and challenges * ChE Emergency Preparedness. REM also toured four research areas in Forney. REM will be recommending that ChE be re-indemnified by Purdue for another year. This recommendation is a result of our continued commitment to safety.
