Purdue University is a proud partner in the Clean Energy Trust. Purdue Students are encouraged to participate in the Clean Energy Challenge 2012 in which the top state winner receives $10K and the top regional winner receives $100K. The Clean Energy Challenge will be held March 2012. THE APPLICATION PROCESS OPENS NOVEMBER 1ST AT : http://cleanenergychallenge2012.istart.org Detailed information is attached. The call-out for detailed information about the Clean Energy Challenge is Monday, October 17th at 6:00 p.m. in RAWLS 3082. The format of the call out will be a panel of clean energy/sustainability faculty, researchers, community members followed by networking and some potential team formation around some of the great ideas students have. Teams may contain faculty, students from other schools, or non-students but only students are eligible to present and receive prize money. * Ventures with revenues prior to the current academic year are excluded. Ventures that have raised equity capital from sources other than the members of the student team before the current academic year are excluded. * A business venture that reaches the Finals may not compete in future Clean Energy Student Challenge competitions. * Prize money will not be awarded to an individual. The applicant must incorporate in the geographic region of the Student Challenge to be eligible for awards. The symposium includes a keynote dinner, poster session, and a several sets of short talks addressing a variety of issues. I strongly encourage all of you to attend at least one, if not all, of the events. Please note, the poster session is open to both undergraduate and graduate students from all programs (not just ESE students). Please spread the word! In Purdue Today, but to make sure you see it and vote: Votes can support Purdue's Solar Decathlon house Online voting is open for the People's Choice Award in the U.S. Department of Energy's collegiate Solar Decathlon 2011, in which Purdue's house is among the 19 competitors. As of 7:30 a.m. today (Sept. 26), Purdue stood second in a tight race. To vote, go online and click the Vote button toward the right. On the next screen, scroll to "INhome (Purdue University)" and select it, then submit vote. Voting ends at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 30). One vote per email address.
