Good Morning ESE Faculty and ESE Students, Please join me in welcoming Keara Ludiker, Graduate Program Specialist - ESE, to The Graduate School's Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs (OIGP). Keara comes to us from the Military Family Research Institute in which she has been involved with for several years. Keara served as the Senior Program Administration Specialist and the Program Manager for Focus Forward Fellowship. Today, April 8th is her first day in her new role. OIGP Spring Reception May 5-6-7

The 2021 event will be held virtually with a select number of students presenting their research via zoom as well as the winner of the Most Outstanding Interdisciplinary Project Award giving the Keynote. 2021 ESE Spring Celebration and Student Achievement Awards

Hello ESE community! I am reaching out to invite you to a virtual celebration recognizing and honoring this year’s Student Achievement Award winners and the 2020-2021 ESE graduates. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the end of a challenging academic year together, as a community. The virtual celebration will be held via Zoom on Friday, May 7, 2021 09:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada). Please bring your morning/breakfast beverage of choice (maybe in your favorite mug!) and feel free to bring your breakfast too. We are excited to invite you, and your research teams, to the NAWI NextGen unconference sessions which will take place during the NAWI Spring Meeting<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwhova.com…>, May 4-5th, 2021. PIs, graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and early career scientists across the NAWI Alliance are invited to learn how this program will cultivate rising water professionals and enable them to drive future research and development in the water-energy sector. Aims and goals of the NAWI NextGen program: 1. Unite early-career members of the NAWI Alliance to create a nationwide-community of rising water-energy innovators; 2. Foster the principles of diversity and inclusion; 3. Accelerate the development of NextGen members through mentorship, academic and industrial partnerships, inter-institutional research, and professional development resources and events; and, 4. Engage with NAWI leadership on research, outreach, and developmental needs of the future workforce, including diversity, inclusion, and access. FW: West Lafayette - My Water Pledge

One of our ESE students Kayla Young is inviting us to participate - please consider doing so.... Hi Dr. Lee, West Lafayette is taking part in the Wyland National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation this year - this might be something of interest to ESE students and affiliates, so I wanted to share to see if you'd like to send information about it out to the ESE listserv. During the month of April participants can take the online pledge to conserve water at https://www.mywaterpledge.com/. West Lafayette is credited for each participant. The pledge consists of about four very simple questions or categories (it takes only minutes to complete). At the end of April, the city with the most participants can earn grand prizes and recognition for their conservation efforts. Participants are also entered to win daily prizes. I also think it's a great opportunity to see how much you might be able to save by making relatively small changes - you get information on how much water your pledge will save once you've completed the questionnaire. Would you consider sharing some information about the pledge and a link to the website<http://www.mywaterpledge.com/> with ESE students and affiliates?
