NOTICE - Extension of Preventive Maintenance Shut Down Over the Weekend

Dear BNC User, During the Birck Nanotechnology preventive maintenance shutdown we try to complete upgrades and changes to critical building system along with our normal preventive maintenance activities. We had 3 critical upgrades during this shutdown and one of them was the replacement of the building wide Uninterruptable Power System (UPS) which had some setbacks that will require us to extend the shutdown over the weekend into next Monday or Tuesday. We will send out a notice once the work is completed and the buildings systems are stabilized. This means that the planned building shutdown scheduled for October 30th to November 1 will not happen until after the Thanksgiving break. Thank you for your patience during these critical upgrades. Changing Building Control Panels

All, Next week, in preparation of our fall shutdown and UPS replacement, we will be switching power sources to a select few building control panels. This will occur next Monday - Wednesday (10/8/2018 - 10/10/2018) in the morning, which will cause temporary power loss to the AWN, PCW, and process cooling water. During the power swap we don't anticipate any issues with normal building operations due to the short nature of the power being off, but there's always a chance something could occur. Once all the panels have been changed to their new power sources I will send a follow-up email. Thanks. Thank you for the your patience. The electrical failure is fixed and all building and exhaust systems are back to normal. We are clear to use fume hoods, wet chemical, and hazardous gas processes. You may notice that all the fume hood exhaust alarms going off indicating that it is UNSAFE to use the fume hoods at the time. Until further notice no chemical processing will not be allowed until the issue is rectified.
