If you will be on campus for business or academic needs during restricted parking times, please plan ahead accordingly and be prepared to park in alternate locations. The following noteworthy parking restrictions will be in place for permit holders this weekend, as they will be for all remaining home football games: * The southern, gravel portion of the Discovery Park lot will be towed at the owner’s expense beginning at 5:15 p.m. each Friday prior to a home football game. This area is signed for A, B or C permit holders. The northern, paved portion of the lot for A or B permit holders will not be towed. * The Northwestern Avenue and University Street Parking Garages are dedicated football game parking locations. Anyone entering either parking garage as of 7 a.m. on game days will be required to pay the event parking rate of $40, provide a prepaid digital athletic parking permit<https://maillinks.purdue.edu/t/43765277/1554838010/93129602/0/1003378/?x=b7…> or display a University “reserve” permit to gain access. * No overnight parking in these garages the night prior to game days is permitted. Vehicles that remain in either garage as of 7 a.m. on game days will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. NOTICE - Birck Nanotechnology Center Preventative Maintenance Closure

Dear BNC Users, Birck Nanotechnology Center Preventative Maintenance Closure Notice October 17, 2022 - October 21, 2022 (Toxic Gas Monitoring System Down from 10/17/22 to 10/25/22) The Birck Nanotechnology Center will be undergoing a semi-annual preventive maintenance and service closure October 17 through October 21, 2022. Air handling systems, exhaust systems, will be down beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, October 17 through 4 p.m. Friday, October 21. Toxic gas delivery, and toxic gas monitoring systems (TGMS) will be down from October 17, 2022 - October 25, 2022, due to a major software system upgrade. There will be no toxic gases until the TGMS system is fully operational. The BNC staff will be performing appropriate preventive maintenance on the process equipment at this time as well All CLEANROOM research work will be suspended until the maintenance activities are completed and all systems are returned to normal. Only authorized personnel will be allowed to enter the cleanroom during this time period. In addition, the laboratory areas will also be affected by this systems maintenance. As such, all LABORATORY activities that involve exhausted hoods, biological safety cabinets, and vacuum systems will be down beginning 7 a.m. Monday, October 17 through 4 p.m. Friday, October 21. However, work that involves taking standard electrical measurements may be carried out in the LABS provided that fluctuating air temperature and humidity do not affect the readings. No chemical or biological work will be allowed during this period. It is anticipated that the building and process tool maintenance will be completed by the end of the day on Friday, October 21. Please check iLabs for equipment status and availability. For long term research planning please refer to the following future dates for our preventive maintenance closures. All spent Hydrogen Peroxide is to go down the drain

Users, We found a non-halogenated waste bottle with 500 ml of hydrogen peroxide listed in it. Hydrogen peroxide is a very strong oxidizer and in the presence of hydrocarbons (solvents) could catch fire or explode! I repeat all hydrogen peroxide is to go down the sink with large volumes of water! Stephen Jurss Birck safety Manager
