Additionally, Lindsey will host a short discussion of Hazardous Waste Management Practices within LORRE. Please come prepared with two lab-specific examples of waste that you personally generate in a LORRE lab. We will do this first, so please be ON TIME.

RO Update-
I expect the system to be down for 2 weeks based on this (completely my opinion). In the meantime, please make arrangements with me for RO & DI water. I'm walking around now and taking carboys to Chemistry this afternoon to be filled with DI water.
There is an unmarked carboy in 256. I suspect this is months old RO water which can be used for rinsing.
Please do your best to plan ahead.

Maintenance had to order an entire new r.o. water system to replace our old dilapidated one. If anyone is in need of water, they'll need to contact our plumber, Tim Snider (snidert(a)purdue.edu<mailto:snidert@purdue.edu>), and setup a time where they can assist him with transporting water from BRWN to POTR.
We do not currently have a timeline for when the new system will arrive. Hopefully soon!

Our building has been without RO water since Wednesday morning. This means there is no water feeding into the Barnstead 359 filtration system. I personally need to collect 10 liters from other lab carboys to continue my experiment today. If anyone else is in urgent need of DI water or RO water, please contact me so we can work together towards other arrangements.

This is a reminder that outgoing gas cylinders (returns) placed out on the loading dock must be 1) logged out on the sheet posted outside of Building Manager Phil Qualio's office and 2) emailed as a pickup request to cylinders(a)purdue.edu<mailto:cylinders@purdue.edu> including the Purdue order number and tank stamped serial number. Failure to do so in a timely manner will result in continued monthly charges.
