Group- There is a planned power outage to all of POTR this Saturday, June 27th, from 6:00am to 2:00pm. There will be no access to the building. Please be sure to power down all equipment when you leave on Friday. I will be available to assist before 3pm. They are behind my desk. I would prefer notice before taking them, if at all possible. The RCR training standard<https://www.purdue.edu/policies/academic-research-affairs/s20.html> is effective beginning July 1. It is important that the information contained in the attached memo is distributed to researchers throughout the Purdue system, as it applies to all faculty, staff, trainees, graduate students, and undergraduate students of the University who design and conduct research and/or report and publish research outcomes. To that end: (1) Associate Deans for Research on the West Lafayette campus, AND (2) Regional Campus Research Leaders: Please distribute this information via email to your faculty, postdocs, graduate students, undergraduate students involved in research, and research staff as soon as possible. Please cc me on your email messages so that my office can track distribution. If you have problems distributing this information, please let me know so we can assist. The final RCR standard has benefitted from the input and endorsement of EVPRP Theresa Mayer (following the endorsement of her predecessor, Suresh Garimella), the Associate Deans for Research in Purdue's various colleges, the Graduate School (which recently implemented an analogous RCR training requirement for faculty serving on graduate student committees), the Graduate Council, research administrators from the regional campuses at Purdue Northwest and Purdue Fort Wayne, and the Purdue Faculty Senate's Faculty Affairs Committee. This will help alleviate any confusion in the case of an emergency. As part of new protocols that went into effect May 26, anyone entering a campus building must wear a face mask. The mask must be worn in all hallways, public spaces and common areas, as well as office spaces if social distancing of six feet is not possible. Individuals in stairwells should wear their face masks and remain on the far right side in the direction of travel. Individuals should avoid stopping and socializing while in the stairwell. If you are not already aware, a team comprised of representatives from a number of departments, including the Purdue University Fire Department, is working with Building Deputies to establish standard operating procedures for facilities and ensure appropriate signage is in place. The team is coordinating building walk throughs in a progressive manner and will be in touch soon if you have not heard from them yet.
