All-
The gas cylinder rental process remains the same as updated via ABE Business Office on January 29, 2020 but I am providing it via email to our new members and adding this detail to the LORRE Student FAQ.
"Orders may be placed via the existing University Stores Ariba catalog through Thursday (Jan. 30). The applicable Ag or Eng Business Office will do this for you upon receiving the Req form.
The demurrage, or monthly fees, for these cylinders will continue to be invoiced by Purdue's Materials Management and Distribution business office until the cylinder is returned.
Beginning Friday (Jan. 31 2020), all new gas cylinder orders must be placed in Ariba through Indiana Oxygen's catalog. The monthly fees for these cylinders will be invoiced through Purdue's iLab solutions on behalf of Indiana Oxygen.
Regardless of the source, customers are encouraged to return cylinders that are not in use by contacting Indiana Oxygen at purdue(a)indianaoxygen.com."
To summarize
1. Contact purdue(a)indianaoxygen.com<mailto:purdue@indianaoxygen.com> for a quote and part number. They do not currently offer a catalog.
2. Send Req form to BO.
3. Contact purdue(a)indianaoxygen.com<mailto:purdue@indianaoxygen.com> to pickup cylinders no longer in use or monthly fees will be incurred.
I advise end users to plan ahead by locating the proper gas cylinder regulator prior to ordering a gas cylinder. I believe our supply of commonly used nitrogen regulators is in active use, as a specific example.
I offer an informal training on setting up a gas cylinder so please schedule this with me before first-time use.
