I2D-list LASER PULSE funding opportunity - Request for Expressions of Interest and Capacity Statements
by Gupta, Pallavi 05 Aug '20

05 Aug '20
Hi All, This may be of your interest. Thanks Pallavi Email not displaying correctly? View in a Web Browser<http://stemedhub.org/newsletter/track/click/?t=NTYgMDVCNEE1ODVBMjUxMjRDNEI1…> Request for Expressions of Interest and Capacity Statements (EOIC) [cid:~WRD0003.jpg] Dear Colleague, Please regard the following Request for Expressions of Interest and Capacity Statements (EOIC) Armed Conflict and Violence Prevention Learning Agenda LASER, along with USAID’s Bureau for Conflict Prevention and Stabilization/Center for Conflict and Violence Prevention (CPS/CVP), and the USAID Global Development Lab Center for Development Research (LAB/CDR), requests Expressions of Interest and Capacity Statements (EOIC) to create and implement an Armed Conflict and Violence Prevention Learning Agenda. The expected period of performance is 2-3 years, contingent on the availability of funding. LASER and USAID will use the received EOIC to form a multi-sectoral team of subject matter experts (SMEs) – to be called the Learning Agenda Implementation Team (LAIT) - comprising selected individual researchers and practitioners (through awards to their respective institutions) to produce and implement a learning agenda that, 1) establishes the evidence base for effective approaches to armed conflict and violence prevention, 2) identifies opportunities for the investments that would produce new knowledge to fill gaps in the existing literature, and 3) provides USAID with tools, resources, and/or policy and programmatic guidance to incorporate learning agenda findings into their work. The LAIT team will conduct original research into armed conflict and violence prevention and create a learning agenda from the results of the research. Full details of the request are available here: https://stemedhub.org/groups/laserpulse/File:/uploads/CVP_LASER.pdf<http://stemedhub.org/newsletter/track/click/?t=NTYgMDVCNEE1ODVBMjUxMjRDNEI1…> This request for Expression of Interest and Capacity Statements (EOIC) is administered by the LASER PULSE<http://laserpulse.org> (Long-term Assistance and SErvices for Research Partners for University-Led Solutions Engine) consortium led by Purdue University and funded through USAID’s Global Development Lab/Center for Development Research. I2D-list USAID - The Intelligent Forecasting Prize competition
by Gupta, Pallavi 04 Aug '20

04 Aug '20
Dear All, USAID recently launched the Intelligent Forecasting Competition. The competition seeks to identify and test more accurate methods of predicting future contraceptive use at health service delivery sites. There is $225,000 available in both prizes to develop forecasting models and a grant to test the model in Cote d'Ivoire. They are also hosting a webinar on 12 August to answer any questions. Please enter by 8 September 2020. More information is available on the competition https://competitions4dev.org/forecastingprize/ 1. The first awards--to generate forecasting models--are made via prizes. Prizes are no-strings-attached awards paid via a direct bank transfer that can be made to individuals and organizations regardless of their geographic location. Our prize does not include several significant barriers to entry for students and foreign competitors. 2. The prize awards are followed by a grant to socialize, deploy, and test a high performing model in Cote d'Ivoire. This is ideal for teams (unfortunately individuals cannot win the grant) who want to perform applied research and see how the model actually performs in a real life setting. I hope you find this useful Thanks Pallavi __________________________ Kind Regards, Pallavi Gupta Assistant Director of Programs Shah Family Global Innovation Lab<https://engineering.purdue.edu/GEP/ShahLab> Global Engineering Programs and Partnerships Office: 765-496-7311 | gupta604(a)purdue.edu<mailto:gupta604@purdue.edu> [/Users/gupta604/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Outlook/Data/Library/Caches/Signatures/signature_14322567]
