For selected problems:
Phase 2: (Dec 16th – Feb 20th)
* Faculty who submitted interest in the selected problems are now invited to submit full proposals. Please find attached proposal template with the mail.
Deadline to submit proposal is Feb 20th 2020.
* I will organize webinars where representatives from the selected partner organizations will answer questions from faculty. Faculty may use this opportunity to get additional information or data that they need for their proposal. (I will confirm webinar information in coming weeks)
* Selection of Finalists will happen by March 6th, and will be announced on March 9th. The Jury Panel will include representatives from the partner organizations.
* Feedback collected from this phase will be shared with the finalists for them to make any last-minute modifications/edits to their proposal.
Phase 3 (Shah Lab Expo – April 2nd)
* The finalists will be invited to present their proposal in-person in front of the judges during our Expo on 2nd April.
* Seed grant awards will be announced during the Expo reception.
For other problems
I will connect the faculty to the organization representatives for them to explore opportunity of co-creating solution, pilot, or joint proposal together. I would be available for additional facilitation, if needed.

Subject: Shah Lab Seed Grant Awards: Phase 1 results
Dear All,
Thank you for your responses and for your patience.
Phase 1 of our seed grant awards process is now complete, and we have selected 10 problem statements to move forward to the Phase 2.
The selection process included a panel of 17 jury members scoring problem statements on 12 parameters. These parameters assessed multiple aspects like - importance and severity of the problem, value to Purdue research, geographical and thematical importance in donor world, partner organization, solution feasibility and Purdue’s own relevant research capability.
Problem statements that scored high on the assessment and also received higher number of submissions from faculty/researchers were selected to proceed to the next round.

Congratulations to the practitioners, NGOs and faculty interested in these problem areas.
Please note, while only the abovementioned problems will move forward in the seed grant awards process, Shah Lab will provide other facilitation and partnership support to experts interested in working on other problem areas.
I will send a separate email to provide detailed information on next steps for Phase 2 and Phase 3.
