Dear colleagues,
The 2019 Ford College Community Challenges RFP is out (please see attached). Purdue student team led by Dr. John Lumkes was awarded this in in 2017 (https://www.fordblueovalnetwork.org/post/working-everyone)
Please share with your students and student groups, as this must be student-led. Please read the qualifications carefully as you determine if your students’ projects are a fit.
Ford College Community Challenge is designed to inspire student teams to develop creative community-building projects addressing local needs, around the theme Making Lives Better. Up to 10 winning proposals will be selected to receive $25,000 each. Winning student proposals must consider, in a unique way, an identified community need, tied to one or more of three broad categories:
-- Driving Social Mobility
-- Changing the Way People Move Through Smart Mobility
-- Building Sustainable Communities
Participants are encouraged to think broadly and explore a variety of potential topics including (but not limited to) infrastructure and workforce needs, community and economic development, hunger and other basic needs, education and design issues, new approaches to student volunteerism.
Per the FAQ, we can submit a previously submitted proposal, IF it is submitted in a new and innovative way.
Since Purdue can submit multiple submissions, the University Development Office will be coordinating the Purdue submissions. Please contact Laura Henzl (LLHenzl(a)prf.org<mailto:LLHenzl@prf.org>) for details of submitting your proposal.
Thanks!
George
