We enable our customers to interpret the world around us by intelligently bridging the physical and digital worlds with unmatched technologies that sense, measure and connect. The candidate is responsible for the development of RF and microwave GaAs and GaN MMIC amplifiers. Tasks include process technology selection, schematic generation and simulation, layout including parasitic extraction and EM simulation, package specification, presentation of design reviews with complete documentation, test plan preparation and data sheet guidance. The candidate will contribute to product definition, initial characterization and qualification support. Customer engagement is encouraged. Experience with MMIC design and familiarity with industry standard EDA tools like Cadence, Momentum and ADS are required. Design and development of GaAs and GaN MMIC LNA, DA, PA - Process selection, model verification - Electrical and physical design - EM extraction and simulation - Thermal extraction and simulation - Host design reviews - Customer exposure - Design evaluation Troubleshooting and design backfit * MSEE degree with more than 3 years MMIC design experience or equivalent * Relevant experience in RF and microwave IC design. * EDA tools: Cadence, ADS, AWR, Ansys * Device physics, * MMIC amplifier design experience * Teamwork and Communication skills. Ruben Chavez Seminar OCTOBER 27, 2017 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM BRK 2001 Thermo-electric transport in nanowires and nanostructures Nanowires and nanostructures are interesting platforms to study heat and electric transport in confined systems. Nanowires are promising candidates in the field of thermoelectricity where heat is converted into electricity without any moving parts. A good thermoelectric material exhibits a low thermal conductivity, and high electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient. The thermal conductivity in nanowires is reduced compared to bulk due to surface scattering, while Seebeck coefficient is improved by the 1-dimensional density of states. InSb is the most promising thermoelectric material to study the effects of quantized electronic transport and its effects on the thermoelectric properties. Measurements of the thermoelectric properties of InSb nanowires will be presented. Ballistic phonon transport in GaP nanowires with a length up to 10 micrometers will be presented, which is attributed to specular scattering of phonons on the surface of the nanowires. Finally, the latest results on the search for signatures of Hydrodynamic phonon transport in silicon microstructures studied by CCD thermoreflectance will be shown.
