Hello Project Team (i.e. everyone in EWB-Purdue), This week we start getting serious about the documentation for the assessment trip. To facilitate easy access for all members, we are keeping relevant documents in a Dropbox folder. The log-in information is: E-mail: ewbpurdue7(a)gmail.com Password: engineers2010 The Dropbox has three main sections: "HASP" folder "Old Bolivia Documents" folder The remaining home page documents In the home page, you will find: -'501...': the application made by the Uganda group -'521-Instructions...': instructions for completing the 521 document (Pre-assessment planning) -'521-Template': What will become our formal 521 report '803...': the EWB review document of the Uganda application (see the end of document for the e-mail by Ryan Luckie who wrote the Uganda application). In the "HASP" folder are all documents related to the "Health and Safety Program." Form 600 is the most important and incorporates the other documents. In the "Old Bolivia Documents" folder are example documents from past projects. For this Wednesday, we want all interested project members to look over these documents. Become familiar with what they are asking and what we need to complete. To learn more about the community, please review the 501 and 803 documents, along with any general research on Uganda. For those interested in writing, look at "EWB-Form Task Areas_2" which breaks down the document sections that need completing. Sections are divided into "General" member completion, "Team" specific completion, and sections needing input from "Daudi." See everyone Wednesday, Michael J. Hello EWBers! If you are reading this, then you have successfully been added to the Engineers Without Borders mailing list. Congrats! Our first meeting will be today--Wednesday the 18th, at 7:00pm in HAMP 1144 (aka Civil Engr Building). Chrissy Verhoff Communications Manager The Energy Center, the Purdue Energy Forum and the Mechanical Engineering are hosting Steve Katsaros, Founder and President, Nokero International Ltd. Recently, Steve Katsaros (Purdue alumnus, 1996) received the Patent for Humanity Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce's U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The award is supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Hi EWBers, Thank you to everyone who made it to the meeting and voted last week! The positions were re-elected/filled as follows: Treasurer: Thalib Razi Secretary: Jynx Boyne Events/Fundraising: Emily Briggs Communications: Chrissy Verhoff The members chosen to travel on the assessment trip to Uganda were Chrissy Verhoff (hi.), Jynx Boyne, and Katherine Schmotzer. A big thank you to everyone who applied for travel and ran for officer positions!! The board has been extremely impressed this semester by everyone's enthusiasm and dedication to the new project, and to EWB as a whole. You guys made this semester an awesome one. We will hold a general meeting before the two fall callouts next semester. The callouts will be September 10 and 11, so be on the lookout for an email about the first meeting and the callouts to follow. Again, thank you to everyone! We enjoyed working with you this year, and we can't wait to share our experiences in Uganda next semester! We'll definitely have our work cut out for us.
