Hello all EWBers, Here is this week's meeting update Tuesday - No Pump design meeting again this week. We are still waiting on info from EIA. Wednesday - No General meeting this week, expect one next week. Thursday - Concrete Tank Design Team this Thursday again at 7pm and in ME 2053. Everyone interested in design phases try to attend. If you are part of the pump design team you can still come to the tank design meetings. Friday - Sunday - EWB Great Lakes Conference taking place at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Hello EWBers, Below you can find a survey specifically aimed at groups like Engineers Without Borders. The purpose of the survey is to evaluate how well groups like ours actually benefit students. I hope that all of you will take the time to go through this, even if you haven’t been in the group for very long at all. Thanks everyone! ---- Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey by Purdue University. The aim of this survey is to evaluate Service Learning programs relevant to construction management both by students as well as professionals in the industry. For the purposes of this survey, Service Learning will be defined as follows: - A method under which students learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized service that is conducted in and meets the needs of a community; is coordinated with an institution of higher education, or community service program, and with the community; and helps foster civic responsibility; and that is integrated into and enhances the academic curriculum of the students; and provides structured time for the students or participants to reflect on the service experience. This survey should only take about 10 minutes of your time. The survey will be completed online and your answers will remain completely anonymous. Directions: Please be open and honest about the following questions. Your answers are anonymous and confidential. Your name will not be included in the data. Hey everyone! The events committee will meet this FRIDAY, OCT. 28TH at 3:30pm in the Union in front of Starbucks. It's just going to be a quick meeting so we can talk about the upcoming fundraiser and t-shirt ideas. If you can't make it but are interested in being a part of the events committee, please email me! Also, if you are interested in the the Ultimate Boilermaker Challenge, it's a 5k run happening this Sunday at noon in Memorial Mall and they are donating all proceeds to EWB! I was hoping to have it this Wednesday at 7pm, in the usual room ME 2053. Please everyone try to make it, (ESPECIALLY OFFICERS) These are our times to get everyone back in the group and aware of whats going on throughout the organization. Hi everyone, There are two steps you must do to become a registered member of EWB-USA. The first fill out this form so we can submit the information to EWB-USA as a chapter: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFcxRDZLSWFwWDZGd3otdE… The second is sign-up on EWB-USA.org yourself. (It only works with Internet Explorer, sorry) http://www.ewb-usa.org/get-involved/membership, click "JOIN NOW". You will have to create an ASCE username. VERY IMPORTANT! Choose "Purdue Univ" as your Employer and choose you're major as your Occupation. Select Student member and Purdue University as the chapter. Alex
