FYI Hello Friends of ExEd! I just wanted to make sure you were all aware of some upcoming deadlines for opportunities from my office. Experiential Education Fellows and Scholars<https://exed.purdue.edu/about/initiatives/fellows-scholars/index.php> The Office of Experiential Education has designed two new professional development programs to be launched this fall: ExEd Fellows and ExEd Scholars. Both programs are open to those at Purdue's main campus, which includes Indianapolis and West Lafayette. Details about each program are included below, and applications for each program can be found on the ExEd Fellows and ExEd Scholars pages. Applications for each program are due by Oct. 17, 2025. Experiential Education Program Funding<https://exed.purdue.edu/funding/program.php> The Office of Experiential Education currently has funds available to support experiential education in West Lafayette and Indianapolis. The Office of ExEd is seeking proposals for short-term funding to expand experiential education opportunities at Purdue. SELB October 10th shutdowns Indianapolis Site Directors, Please see shutdown information below and pass along as needed. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Dave ________________________________ ---- External Email: Use caution with attachments, links, or sharing data ---- All- Please be advised that CFS will be replacing surge protectors in two electrical panels at the SELB building. To perform this work safely, they must power down these panels on October 10th from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Please note that the building’s main power will not be affected during this time. However, there will be some power shutdowns which I have outlined below: - Fire pump (SELB) - Lot 85 lights (parking lot between Inlow and SELB) - Both passage and freight elevators (SELB) - Cold room and warm room (SELB) Additionally, as a precaution, steam will be isolated within the building during this period. Please expect minimal discomfort to the general spaces, but please plan accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out. Hey all, Join us tomorrow for our first Instructional Drop-in Session, on September 9th at the new Student Center. The Drop-in Session will last from 11:00am to 1:00pm in room 230. The goal for this session is to give instructors an opportunity to meet staff who support teaching, offer teaching resources, and faculty development opportunities. This is an informal session, with no presentations. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and to discuss how their office and support each instructor's individual needs. For offices that have learning and support spaces, like the DRC and Writing Lab, instructors can take tours of the spaces. As you know, this is one of the largest student-run career fairs in the nation and a hallmark of the Purdue Engineering student experience. With 400+ employers and 12,000+ students in attendance, IR provides students with invaluable opportunities to meet employers, explore career options, and secure internships or co-ops. Because Purdue West Lafayette and Purdue Indianapolis are one academic community, I want to remind us all that are involved with classes, employment and activities that our students in Indianapolis should also have similar access to this opportunity. Some of them may wish to travel to West Lafayette on those dates to network with employers, pursue internship or co-op opportunities, and strengthen their career pathways and this will take more time traveling from Indy to WL. We recognize the importance courses and student obligations. I would ask that you consider requests from students to attend IR and appreciate any flexibility that can be given. This is an event that is supported by the college. We are working on Career Fairs for Indianapolis and recognize that they will be smaller.
