NOVEMBER LORRE SAFETY ISSUE 11/21/2016 To All, Our first priority is to keep the laboratory environment safe. Research employing lead, cadmium, and mercury will begin soon. *Samira Fatemi* gave a presentation concerning heavy metal safety during the last LORRE seminar. Thank you to REM members *Linda Swihart *and*Josh Brown*for offering detailed instructions and suggestions during the meeting with Prof. *Abigail Engelberth, Samira Fatemi, Amanda Kreger*, and *Xingya Liu*. Also, thank you *Judah Young *for putting us in contact with Linda and Josh. *Amanda*and *Samira*have cleaned the hood in Lab #359 and prepared a waste container for safe experimenting. All chemical waste must be capped, labeled for REM pickup, and disposed of properly. *Oskar**Kane*, *Raymond Red Corn*, *Emma Brace *and*Julia Burchell*have done a great job following protocol, and everyone in the lab needs to maintain the waste disposal standards.
