EWB Constitution Changes

Dear EWB Purdue members, The executive officers would like to formally propose a new Constitution. Please read the proposed version here. Next Saturday, November 18th, there will be an online approval vote sent out for this version of the Constitution. For the Constitution to pass two-thirds of active members will have to vote to approve it. Active members have been redefined as dues paying members that are either EWB-EPICS registered members or students who have attended two-thirds of the semester meetings before the vote, and have attended at least four meetings. Once a Constitution is passed by the chapter, SAO (Student Activities and Organizations Office) will have to approve the document. We will present on the proposed Constitution changes again on Monday. Hello everyone! This week: * A message from our excellent Grants lead * Winterization info * Details on the Graduate and Professional Studies Event (which can get money for EWB!) * The plan for the meeting this Monday * The team calendar link Margaret, our Grants head, has created this spreadsheet to organize all the connections our team may have for applying to new grants. Our team is participating in Winterization on this Saturday, 11/11! This is the third year in a row that we've done Winterization as a team, and it's always been a rewarding and fun way to get to know each other. Just come in time for the second wave, and make sure to tell them when you register that you're part of the Engineers Without Borders group. The Graduate School is hosting the Midwest Graduate and Professional School Summit on this Saturday, 11/11 in Stewart Center. If 10 or more of our members attend the event, our organization gets $100, and if our organization has the most attendees, we get another $250. The event is an open house from 1:00-4:00, and a group of us are planning on going after Winterization. Hey everyone! In this week's email: * Officer elections have been postponed * Info on our next team social event * The plan for the 11/6 meeting Officer elections have been postponed to week 14. As we have reviewed the proposed constitution with the chapter, several points have been raised regarding our integration with EPICS and need to be addressed. We cannot have elections before the chapter has approved the new constitution, especially because officer roles are redefined in the proposed constitution. To allow the chapter the appropriate amount of time to review these changes, we are going to hold the vote during the week 14 Monday meeting. Nominations will remain open for the extended deadline. Our next team social event is officially Winterization on Saturday, November 11th! We've participated in Winterization for the past several years, and it's always a great chance to make an impact on our local community while getting to know each other better. A lot of hard work has gone into coming up with this recommendation, as our chapter will work with our next community partners for at least five years. The new member design team will also be meeting Monday night, as they have for the past several weeks.
