The floor maintenance will begin on Saturday, February 7th, starting 6:00am to 4:30pm. Please note that during this time, the SL and LD connecting lobby area floor will be waxed, this area be CLOSED to building occupants. To navigate around this area, please utilize the freight elevator or stairwells as alternative routes. If you have any questions, please let me know. Angel

ADA compliance for course materials

On April 23rd, the University will lose its exemption for ADA rules on digital accessibility for course materials. By that day, we need to ensure that all course materials posted are distributed to students per the ADA law. Occupant comfort levels should not be affected but if you have labs with equipment hooked up to the chilled water loop, please take necessary precautions. Thanks, Dave ---- External Email: Use caution with attachments, links, or sharing data ---- On the behalf of Shane Green, CFS, Zone Manager All, Please be advised that there will be a chilled water shutdown on **January 29 starting at 10:00 AM**, affecting the IT Building, SL, LD, Innovation Hall, SELB Building, and Inlow Hall. This shutdown is expected to last approximately **one hour**. The primary goal is to locate and address a leak currently ongoing in the system. **Summary of shutdown times:** - No chilled water in SELB and IO Buildings from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM - No chilled water in LD and SL Buildings from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM If there are any critical pieces of equipment or concerns within your departments, please email Shane Green, Campus Facility Services Zone Manager, at greensa(a)iu.edu<mailto:greensa@iu.edu> as soon as possible. The zone will be staffed during this period and closely monitored to minimize disruptions. The two areas with specific concerns are: • IT Building Data Center • SELB Cold Room, 2nd Floor (Please keep the door shut to maintain temperatures, as there will be no chilled water during the shutdown.) Welcome back to campus! I hope you had a restful winter break. Following are some reminders/announcements as you prepare for the semester. 1. I’d like to welcome two new staff members to the ME team in Indianapolis: * Devin Glass: Machine Shop/CNC Supervisor * Ray Issa: ME Instructional Support Engineer 2. Most of the School policies are available on the ME Intranet site: https://engineering.purdue.edu/Intranet/Groups/Schools/ME In particular, I often refer to the “School Policies” link on the right-hand side under the “School Resources” heading. 3. If you have an announcement you’d like to make for the ME undergraduate students, send it to menews(a)purdue.edu to get posted to the PurdueME.com web site. If you have an announcement for the ME graduate students, send it to megradblog(a)purdue.edu to get posted on the purduemegrad.blog website. I encourage you to have your graduate students subscribe to the ME Graduate blog if they don’t already. 4. Please make use of the EL 104 help room for instructor and TA office hours. Students have given positive feedback about having course help located in the same location. Contact Sherrie Tucker (tucker76(a)purdue.edu) with the days and times when you’ll be using the room. 5. UG research can be supported a variety of ways: hourly pay, ME 498xx/499xx (up to 9 cr), SURF (summer), DUIRI, and VIP.
