*July LORRE safety update*

To All: Thank you all for your help. We have completed the self-audits for all labs, offices, common areas, and storage spaces within LORRE. We will continue to address any deficiencies found via the self-audits, but we still have much to do. Since the Potter ventilation replacement, re-organization of the second and third floors labs have been underway.Everyone has made a great effort! But busy as we are, safety is still a priority. On Monday, July 14^th , REM will renew our ISP certification, and the safety inspection it entails is strict and serious. In light of this, please: 1)Keep your experiment areas clean. 2)Don't leave dry things in the sink. 3)Make sure all chemical containers are closed and properly labeled. 4)Don't leave any chemicals in the hood after you finish your experiments inside it. Also,on Thursday, July 10^th we will have an annual HEPA Filtered Equipment Certification inspection. The Lab 335 & 237A hoods must be empty during that time; please cease experiments in those hoods prior to the certification date.
