To All: The Annual HEPA Filtered Equipment Certifications will be carried out on Thursday 07/12/2018. We will empty the Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) (ID-734596) in Room #237 on 07/11/2018. Please don’t plan to use it on this date. You will be able to use the BSCs in Lab #233 (ID-733520) and Lab #252. Both BSCs have certification from REM. Today the floor of Lab #237 was covered in water, and*Samira, Elena, Pablo, Jessica, Antonio, Fabricio,****Nate, Dr. Daehwan Kim*, and possibly others worked on cleaning it.The problem most likely occurred by failing to turn off the DI water faucet. Whether or not there is DI water in the system, the faucet must always be turned off when one leaves.Otherwise, it could happen at night or on the weekend, and then we would have an even bigger problem.
