*March Safety Issue* (3/02/2015) Currently the SCC has performed the calibrations on all 19 lab balances; however, we need to remember: a. Follow the max weight restriction when using the balances. Each balance has its max weight listed. b. Keep the balances clean. Do not leave chemicals or materials on the balances. C.Do not move the balances. Each balance has been specifically calibrated for its location, and moving it would require recalibration. There are balances set up in each lab that you can use. We have added the "High Speed Centrifuge Log Sheet and Rotor Report" for the Avanti-J-20XP1 (Room 252) and the Avanti-J301 (Room 254). See Fig 1, please fill it out when you use these machines and make sure the machines are safe to use before you do so. We have found some pipettes that are not working very well. If you are using a pipette and it has a problem, please send it to room 333. We are gathering them and send to company for calibration, but they must be sent in before April, 2015 for the calibration to be free (In the warranty cover). Fig 1.
