Hello Everyone, With a slight delay, I would like to share with you a recent safety accident that occurred in a chemistry lab at the University of Minnesota on Tuesday, June 17, when an explosion injured a graduate student who was synthesizing trimethylsilyl azide. The student suffered injuries to his arm and side, and needed surgery to deal with glass shards. He also injured an eardrum.
