Dear BNC User, This is an update, the ultrapure water system is now operational, and we have ultrapure water supporting all Birck Research spaces. There was a faulty wiring issue resulting in the unscheduled shutdown of the ultrapure water system. The clearnroom humidification system is still down and cleanroom humidity remains out of control. It takes 4-6 hours for our cleanroom humidification system to heat up and stabilize. We hope to have cleanroom humidity back under control by the end of the day. We will send another notice once the cleanroom humidity is stable. Thank you to Tim Miller and Mihailo Bradash for bring the ultra-pure water system back online, and the skilled trades for responding to this emergency. There is no ultra-pure water flow in the building at this time. As a result the humidity in our clean room is completely out of control and our humidification system is down since it's dependent on ultrapure water to operate. it is unknown at this time how long ultrapure water system will remain down has investigations continue. We will keep you posted as more information comes in. Mark Voorhis Building Manager Purdue University Birck Nanotechnology Center Office: (765) 494-3036
