In this letter I want to highlight the outstanding achievements of our students and welcome a new class of graduates. Our School continues to rise in the rankings and our College of Engineering achieved another outstanding year with an overall #4 ranking<https://click.deliver.purdue.edu/?qs=433950d926fa3e33af7990b7733906a988b2e431827c5e28cb7d08a5c614ca47fc8d53171e68d9a7f4338d43046210b0e4d5a079532ec14d63061c7628861fc2> according to US News & World Report. This spring, several faculty members led students internationally for service learning, and study abroad experiences in Rwanda and South Korea <https://click.deliver.purdue.edu/?qs=433950d926fa3e33be544a7a3b447284283bbb4f874a2e7753341b90fdb0689573973193fa85dd21a2061f50cd3e3ad5e985a42daf3f13b749f3c74eb9c53973> and several trips are underway in May to Japan and Scandinavia. Each trip is centered around a critical aspect of Biomedical Engineering - whether the focus is regulatory affairs, agent-based modeling, or point-of-care diagnostics, these immersive experiences have lasting impact. Also, this spring, it was great to add to our alumni numbers! Ninety-two undergraduate students received their BS degree in BME, and 41 graduate students completed their MS and PhD degrees. This upcoming fall we welcome 140 new sophomore students, continuing our nearly 20% year-over-year growth in students choosing BME! Our faculty have excelled in research, teaching, and entrepreneurship this year. BME faculty-led companies have received substantial recognition and funding this year including Dr. Kinzer-Ursem and Dr. Linnes' company OmniVis<https://click.deliver.purdue.edu/?qs=433950d926fa3e33cb001a5832507de310536de9cf1cfdded7a406bffe84010add42b4218388bf54173e9a16cf8cfee4fe8af76374a1c86e04553a1b3e3541f1>, and Dr. Harbin's GeniPhys<https://click.deliver.purdue.edu/?qs=433950d926fa3e33b10f232ec6234a6842ccd8ca5b51b3cf321a03576813f9c6c939ba64888fd9b97f95beb17627c0d1c8a2b55f22b0b96b25155d76720bf875>.
