Putting together a transparent set of guidelines governing the use of research spaces in Indianapolis is important so that everyone involved (especially the faculty) knows what the expectations are for the spaces they occupy. There are no new policies here - this is all aligned with the policies of Purdue University that govern the use of space in West Lafayette. The difference is that this new arrangement is very different from the policies that governed the use of space at IUPUI. From that lens, it is critical that this document makes it to the faculty, and that they understand what it means. Please share as broadly as possible, preferably soon. AO is also working on space use agreements for all research labs (will be administered through DocuSign). As noted in the guidelines, most of these agreements will only extend until June 30, 2026. A few will last 3-5 years, based on current funding and a proven track record of productivity. The agreements can be extended, but the decisions will be based on productivity metrics as defined in the guidelines. Most of you have already seen this but if there are any questions, please let me know. Thanks Joey ____________________________ Joseph M.
