Córdova Leadership in Action Award. This award recognizes undergraduate and/or graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities. This year’s nominees must be eligible to receive their degree at the May, August, or December 2026 commencement ceremonies. The Dean of each college is encouraged to share this recognition opportunity widely in the college and take nominations to be considered. From that pool, the college dean should select only two nominations to forward to the selection committee. Only two candidates will be considered from each college. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to receive the award. Please consider nominating students who may not have been recognized through other channels or awards. Candidates must be candidates for graduation during the 2026 calendar year and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Criteria for the award that should be specifically addressed in the nomination letter include: * Demonstrated successful leadership roles(s) during the student’s Purdue career. * Demonstrated qualities of integrity, influence, and vision. * Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, to motivate, and to mentor others. Nomination letters should be approximately two pages in length and attest to the demonstrated leadership abilities of the students, including examples of leadership roles and successes. You may also include the student’s resume if available. Nomination letters should be submitted to Joanna Sharp, in an email attachment, joannasharp@purdue.edu<mailto:joannasharp@purdue.edu>. Recipients of the award are recognized at the Student Life Honors Award Ceremony, receive a monetary award, a certificate of recognition, and will have their names engraved on a permanent plaque. Please distribute this request as appropriate within your college. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026. Thank you for helping the university recognize the outstanding achievements of our students.
