Important EPICS Week 9 Announcements Hello students, There are two very important events in this week's announcements that we can't make mandatory for the course but that, as EPICS students, you are expected to attend if at all possible. First, the DKC team's 1000 Videos for the Deaf campaign kickoff is April 2nd, and you should all come out and support your fellow EPICS team by attending this fun event. Secondly, the EPICS Awards Open-House is going to be a big celebration and students from every team will be recognized, so please show up to support your classmates (who knows, you may even win an award). Thank you all for your hard work the first half of this semester, and I'm looking forward to seeing the delivery checklists start rolling in. Best, Andrew ________________________________ CORRECTION: The previous announcement had listed the wrong time for the Awards Open House. EPICS Awards Open-House and End of Year Celebration - Save the Date: April 17th at 4:30 PM in the Kurtz Atrium in ARMS This year we are going to start a new tradition of holding a public open-house for all EPICS students, advisors, project partners, and friends on the Monday of final design review for the Spring semester. We will highlight award winners, scholarship recipients, and celebrate teams with delivered projects. Please plan to join us to celebrate you and your classmates' successes. ________________________________ Khan Academy: 1000 Videos for the Deaf Kickoff - Inspire to Innovate - April 2nd Deaf Kids Code and DKO EPICS are hosting a kick-off event on April 2nd in the Armstrong atrium to launch the campaign "Khan Academy: 1000 Videos for the Deaf". The purpose of the campaign is to raise enough money to translate 1000 Khan Academy tutorials into ASL in order for ASL to be fully integrated onto the Khan Academy website. Come to the kick-off event to join the movement to open-source education for the deaf community! See attached flier for details. ________________________________ Emily Mauzy Vogel (EMV) Sophomore Leadership Development Retreat - Due March 15 This retreat is a dynamic overnight program involving teambuilding, leadership inventories, personal development, and will introduce participants to concepts surrounding strengths-based approaches to inclusive leadership.
