ChE Faculty, Staff and Students, REM will be visiting Forney on Thursday afternoon, August 18, as part of our re-indemnification process. During the visit, REM will have access to all offices and labs in Forney. We do not know where they will visit. Areas where ChE has had past violations include: 1) Lab occupants not wearing safety glasses and other required PPE 2) Open chemical and waste containers: ALL chemical containers must be sealed. 3) Chemical and waste containers without labels: ALL chemical and waste containers must have a label that includes: 1) description of contents, 2) owner name or initials and 3) date. 4) Improperly secured cylinders: Every cylinder must be individually secured around the body of the cylinder. It is never OK to secure multiple cylinders or to secure a cylinder around the valve cap. We want the visit to go well. Thank you, in advance, for your efforts and help. Linda Linda S.
