Dear BRK grad students,
NSAC would like to invite you to a tour of Fermilab (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, near Chicago, IL) on* Saturday December 7th, 2013* .
Fermilab (http://www.fnal.gov/) is a US Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics with a mission to inspire the world and enable its scientists to solve the mysteries of matter, energy, space and time for the benefit of all.
We are registered as a group and* limited to 20 people*. We will be leaving at 8 a.m.and expect to return to Purdue that evening (exact time depends on individual drivers).
The tour lasts about two hours. We will view the Laboratory from the 15th floor windows and visit various displays located there. The tour moves to the Linear Accelerator building where we will see the Cockcroft-Walton, the components in the linear accelerator gallery and the Main Control Room. A detailed agenda for the day will be emailed later to all attendees.
If you are interested in going, please *RSVP at the following link by November 25th*; availability is on a first-come, first-served basis (limit 20 people).
