Dear Weldon BME Community, I write today to share a leadership transition within our school that reflects both gratitude for past service and enthusiasm for our future. First, I want to thank Dr. Young Kim one more time for serving as the Associate Head for Research from 2022 to 2024. His leadership during this period was especially important, as it coincided with significant administrative transitions and interim leadership at the school. Navigating these challenges required steadiness, thoughtful decision-making, and a deep commitment to supporting our research community. Dr. Kim provided just that-offering critical service at a pivotal time and helping to maintain momentum across our research programs. I want to sincerely thank him for his dedication to the Weldon School, and I hope you will join me in extending your personal appreciation as well. Looking ahead, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jacqueline Linnes has agreed to take on the role of Associate Head for Research. In this position, she will report directly to me and work closely with the BME Cabinet, College leadership, and our partners in Indianapolis to advance the research mission of the Weldon School. Her responsibilities will include championing research excellence, mentoring faculty, enabling collaborative team science, and overseeing research infrastructure and policy. I am confident that Jackie's experience, creativity, and collaborative spirit will serve the School and our research mission exceptionally well.
