PLEASE NOTE: This event is this Wednesday! If you are interested in attending, please register using the QR code below: Hi Kerry, In the last CoE safety committee meeting I mentioned that ChE is officially launching participation in the RightCycle program. The launching event is on Wednesday, October 25th, from 12-1 pm in the atrium of Forney Building. This sustainability initiative is a joint effort of the ChE safety committee and the newly formed ChE sustainability committee. It just happens that the date we chose for the launching event falls on the week when Purdue has "Green Week", a week packed with events to promote sustainability on campus. The RightCycle program, run by Kimberly Clark Professional, allows for recycling of previously difficult to recycle items such as used, non-hazardous personal protective equipment (e.g.: nitrile gloves, safety glasses, respirators, coveralls, etc.) to be diverted from landfill and recycled into new plastic products such as flower pots, lawn furniture or playground equipment. Kimberly Clark Professional, Fisher Scientific, Purdue EHS (Hazardous waste management) and Purdue Sustainability Office representatives will also participate, along with ChE faculty, staff and graduate students. I attach the flyer for more information; could you please share with the CoE safety committee members? I hope they can participate to learn more about the program and celebrate with us.
