Personal Safety in ARMS
Hello MSE Researchers and Students, There have been some concerns expressed from many of you regarding feeling uncomfortable working in Armstrong with less MSE folks around. I want to reassure you that MSE takes this concern very seriously and is working to create a safer working environment for all of you. Dave Bahr is speaking with Purdue police and Public Safety about ways to increase personal safety in Armstrong as well. For now, I wanted to draw your attention to a few resources available to you in addition to campus police and reporting to MSE: * MSE Lab Buddy System (Located in the MSE Lab Safety Brightspace page under "Discussion Board") o https://purdue.brightspace.com/d2l/le/84795/discussions/topics/210970/View?g... o Suggestion and input from Caitlin Adams on behalf of MSE GSA o You can request a buddy or volunteer to be a lab buddy o In-person or via video chat options o Resource created today for your benefit. Feel free to suggest methods for improvement. * Student of Concern * https://www.purdue.edu/advocacy/faculty/incident.html * This resource can be used to report a student if you believe they are threat to themselves or another person. * C.A.R.E (Center for Advocacy, Response, and Education) * Website: https://www.purdue.edu/odos/care/about/index.html * 24/7 Crisis hotline: (765) 495-CARE * This resource provides support and resources for students who are victims of stalking, threats, violence, rape, or sexual assault.
