Contactless-enabled Purdue Mobile ID
[https://mailimages.purdue.edu/purdue-oevpt_id_card_office/Delivera_Logo_-new...] UPCOMING HARDWARE CONVERSIONS IN ARMSTRONG Greetings from ID Card Operations, As Purdue advances its campus-wide transition to Mobile Credentials and modern contactless technology, the mag stripe portion of card readers using the Transact system will soon be upgraded to support contactless (tap) access only. Starting in January 2026, the magnetic stripe (swipe) will be disabled on all Transact devices. This change improves security, simplifies systems, and supports our shift to Mobile Credentials. To enter buildings or use secure services, customers will need to tap their contactless-enabled Purdue ID or use the Purdue Mobile ID. Our team is working to ensure a smooth transition. Customers whose ID does not support contactless access will be contacted directly with any necessary actions required to maintain access.
