Hi Rosemary, Bev, and Lisa-

Could you please forward this to your respective Graduate Students and Postdocs? This opportunity was shared by a Purdue alumni, and is a great opportunity for our Grad Students and Postdocs in MSE and ChE (and Chemistry and Physics).

Thanks!

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Hope all is well with you!

We are now accepting applications for the 15th annual Dow Building Engineering and Science Talent (BEST) Symposium. The application deadline is April 30, 2021.

To ensure the safety of our participants and after a successful virtual 2020 BEST Symposium, this year’s Symposium will be held in a virtual format. The BEST symposium will be held on August 2nd – 5th , 2021.  Dow’s BEST Symposium is primarily intended to introduce African American, Hispanic, Native American U.S. doctoral and postdoctoral scientists to the wide range of rewarding careers in industrial research, and in particular, the many opportunities with one of the world’s largest and leading materials science companies, Dow.  This conference, developed jointly by our minority scientists and Ph.D. recruiting team, demonstrates our commitment to a diverse work force.

We would greatly appreciate your help to forward this to your graduate students and post-doctoral scientists.  Applicants must be pursuing degrees in: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other closely related fields and should have a doctorate degree or expect to receive one by December 2022.

Additional information may be found at our website. All applications are due by April 30th, 2021.

Participants in the conference may be considered for future employment at Dow. However, participation neither obligates the student to apply for employment, nor guarantees future consideration for employment by Dow. For those wishing to learn more about opportunities, please visit our careers page.

For further information, please contact the symposium chair Elizabeth Santos.

Regards,
