program will extend
five years and expand with additional Department of Defense funding of $10.8 million, and a ceiling of $99 million.
Professor Carol Handwerker was appointed to the
U.S. Department of Commerce Industrial Advisory Committee
(IAC),
an advisory body that will provide guidance to the Secretary of Commerce on a range of issues related to domestic semiconductor research and development in support of CHIPS for America.
Professor Kaushik Roy received the SRC
Innovation
Award, a new honor that recognizes patents and IP arising from SRC research that have made a significant impact on the semiconductor industry.
Professor Subbarayan received the SRC
Technical
Excellence Award, which was first presented in 1991 and recognizes key contributors of innovative technology that significantly enhance the productivity and competitiveness
of the semiconductor industry.
The
2022 Industrial Roundtable career fair organized by the
Purdue
Engineering Student Council Sept. 13-15 attracted a record-breaking 436 companies and more than 12,000 students. Representatives from 28 semiconductor companies
interacted with students and presented internships and full-time opportunities, as well as microelectronics career perspectives. The Purdue Semiconductor Info Session on Sept. 13, which included
a
keynote by Thomas Sonderman, CEO of SkyWater Technology, attracted the interest of more than 650 students.
