science and engineering departments at Purdue, especially those in Chemistry, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
Attendees do not need to RSVP; ARMS 1103 can seat 50.

Speakers: Bev and Ray Mentzer have over 60 years of experience in ExxonMobil. Bev retired as Vice President, ExxonMobil, after working in both domestic & international engineering and managerial positions, and leading engineers,
geoscientists and onsite operations staff in US onshore and offshore oil & gas operations. Dr. Ray Mentzer had more than a dozen assignments over his career with ExxonMobil in oil & gas operations, major project design, financial planning, public affairs,
and safety / health / environment / security. He then taught at Texas A&M, and is now the Exec. Director of the Purdue Process Safety & Assurance Center.
Their interactive presentation will focus on the skills needed by PhDs and postdocs if they want to succeed in industry, how best to utilize their technical skills, and which behaviors might inhibit their paths to advancement. The presentation
will be followed by a Q&A session.
