UPCOMING HARDWARE CONVERSION IN ARMS

Greetings from ID Card Operations,

As Purdue advances its campus-wide transition to Mobile Credentials and modern contactless technology, the mag stripe portion of card readers using the Transact system will soon be upgraded to support contactless (tap) access only. Starting in January 2026, the magnetic stripe (swipe) will be disabled on all Transact devices.

This change improves security, simplifies systems, and supports our shift to Mobile Credentials. To enter buildings or use secure services, customers will need to tap their contactless-enabled Purdue ID or use the Purdue Mobile ID.

You have been identified as someone whose current Purdue ID card does not support contactless access.

Action is required to ensure you maintain access to your building.

For a smooth transition, we will print a new physical ID and deliver it to Phil Qualio on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

You’ll exchange your old card for your new one with Phil Qualio —no fee, and no new photo required.

Important: After the scheduled distribution date, your current ID card will no longer function in ARMS unless it supports contactless (tap) technology.

You may also Download your Purdue Mobile ID.

We encourage all staff to transition to the Purdue Mobile ID for a faster, more secure experience.

Get started here: Download the Transact eAccounts App

  • Go to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) and download the Transact eAccounts app.
  • Open the app and search for Purdue
  • Log into eAccounts (use your Purdue career account and 2-factor authentication)

Now your ready to go Mobile!

Set Up Your Mobile ID

  • Log into the eAccounts App.
  • Tap Add to Wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet).

You're All Set!

Your Mobile ID is now active and stored in your phone’s wallet. Use it just like your physical ID by tapping your phone at card readers across campus.

Your Mobile ID works on your iPhone, Apple Watch, Android phone, or Samsung Watch to:

  • Access campus buildings, Rec Sports and Libraries
  • Pay for meals and campus purchases

It's fast, easy, and always with you!

Check out our website and see the Mobile ID in action.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us at transact@purdue.edu. Thank you for supporting this important campus-wide upgrade.
