Hi MSE students & researchers,
The past couple weeks there has been a rise in folks showing up to lab in improper lab attire. As a reminder, PPE is required in most of our lab spaces. Required lab attire includes the following (as well as any task specific PPE requirements):
·
Safety glasses
·
Closed toed shoes
·
Long pants
·
Hair tied back
·
No loose clothing or jewelry
·
Lab coat (if working in a chemical lab)
If you show up without PPE, you will be asked to leave. If this a reoccurring issue, you will be removed from lab access.
There have also been reports of students eating/drinking in the labs. This is a reminder that eating in the labs is not permitted and unsanitary. All food and drink must be stored outside the lab to avoid contamination.
Stay Safe,
